Video Surveillance Policy

Cranston Public Library Video Surveillance Policy

The Cranston Public Library employs video surveillance camera systems at the Central Library, Arlington Branch Library, Auburn Branch Library, Oaklawn Branch Library, and William Hall Library.  These cameras are in use to enhance the physical security of the library, its property, staff and patrons.

We strive to protect the privacy of our patrons and therefore use this equipment in accordance with state laws and retention policies.  Images on this system are removed in the shortest amount of time allowed by law.  We reserve the right to disclose surveillance camera images to law enforcement personnel voluntarily or upon request.

Approved by the Cranston Public Library Board of Trustees March 14, 2018
