Striking Silver: An Olympic Display at the Central Library

For the month of February, the public is invited to the Central Library to view the memorabilia and artifacts of Olympic silver-medalist and Cranston native, Tom Mellor. Mellor (featured in the photograph below with his father, Cranston Public Library delivery van driver, Don Mellor) competed on the United States hockey team in the 1972 Olympic Games in Japan. Stop by to see photographs, commemorative Olympic medals, hockey equipment, and more—including the book on Mellor's experience at the games, Striking Silver.
