The Arlington Reading Room is closed for renovations during summer 2013. A fall reopening date is anticipated. The Arlington Library opened in the neighborhood district hall in 1895 with a collection of 500 volumes. The Arlington Reading Room now serves the community from Cranston's Senior Center.
The Auburn Library began as the Auburn Reading Room Association in 1888. After serving the community from six other neighborhood locations, the Auburn branch found a permanent home on Pontiac Avenue .

The Knightsville Library opened in a storefront in 1927. It moved to its present location thanks to land donated in memory of Gerard Ruggieri and the efforts of the Knightsville Library Association.

The Oak Lawn branch building was once a school house, but opened its doors as a library in 1896. In 1968 the Oak Lawn Library became the first of six libraries to join the Cranston Public Library system.

The Edgewood Library was established in 1897, but acquired a new location and a new name when a prominent businessman left part of his estate to found the William H. Hall Free Library.
