Cranston Public Library Receives $5,000 Legislative Grant
The Cranston Public Library received a $5,000 Legislative grant from members of the Cranston House delegation to the RI General Assembly. Representatives Jacquelyn Baginski (D-17), David A. Bennett (D-20), Richard Fascia (R-42), Arthur Handy (D-18), Charlene Lima (D-14), Joseph M. McNamara (D-19), Christopher G. Paplauskas (R-15), and Brandon Potter (D-16) requested and awarded the grant to the library for program support of English as a Second Language (ESL) classes offered in partnership with the Rhode Island Family Literacy Initiative (RIFLI). The grant will help expand these essential services for immigrant families in the community.
Library Director Edward Garcia accepted the check on behalf of the library alongside Representatives Christopher Paplauskas and Arthur Handy.
