Purpose

The Cranston Public Library (CPL) is dedicated to making its website and digital resources accessible to all visitors. In alignment with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG), the library is committed to continue working towards maintaining a digitally accessible website.

Measures to Support Accessibility

The Cranston Public Library takes the following measures to maintain an accessible website:

  • Include accessibility as a requirement for all web content. Content must conform to WCAG 2.1 level AA, and level AAA as possible.
  • Perform digital accessibility reviews through WCAG Wave Tool and manual review.
  • Ensure content creators have accessibility knowledge and training.
  • Usability tests with participants of varying disabilities.

Compatibility with browsers and assistive technology

The CPL website is designed to be compatible with assistive technologies and the latest versions of major browsers including EDGE (Chromium), Firefox (non-mobile), Safari, and Chrome on both mobile and desktop screens. In Internet Explorer and older browsers, some aspects of the website may not display correctly.
