Accessibility

The Cranston Public Library provides free and equitable access for all. We actively seek to remove barriers so everyone in the community can use the library.

Buildings and Collections

All buildings have accessible parking. All libraries except the Auburn branch have automatic doors. If you need assistance opening the doors at the Auburn branch, please call 401-781-6116.

All libraries except Knightsville have accessible bathrooms.

Staff are available to get requested materials from high and low shelves and carry them to a table and to remove chairs so that people using wheelchairs can access public computers and tables at all locations.

If you would like a “Meet Your Library” tour for an individual or a group, please contact access@cranstonlibrary.org (opens email in a new tab).

Meeting Rooms and Programs

All program rooms and meeting spaces at the Central, Hall, and Auburn libraries are accessible. The Program Rooms at Knightsville and Oak Lawn are not wheelchair accessible. Please please contact access@cranstonlibrary.org (opens email in a new tab) if you wish to attend a program that is only offered at Knightsville or Oak Lawn.

Please note that some programs are age limited. If you would like to attend a program but you are not in the advertised age range, please contact access@cranstonlibrary.org. You may also search the library event calendar for all ages programming (link opens in a new tab).

If you would like to share any accessibility needs or information before attending a program, please contact access@cranstonlibrary.org (opens email in a new tab).
