Rhode Island Senator Lammis Vargas presented a $2,000 legislative grant to the William Hall Library to support its English as a Second Language (ESL) and citizenship classes, offered in partnership with the Rhode Island Family Literacy Initiative (RIFLI). The grant will help expand these essential services for immigrant families in the community.
“As the daughter of immigrant parents, I know firsthand the challenges families face when navigating a new language and country," said Senator Vargas. “I’m honored to present this legislative grant to the Cranston William Hall Library in support of their ESL and Citizenship classes, offered in partnership with the Rhode Island Family Literacy Initiative. These programs open doors, build confidence, and strengthen the very fabric of our community.”
Ward 1 City Councilmember Bridget Graziano and Cranston Public Library Director Ed Garcia accepted the check on behalf of the William Hall Library.
