Board of Trustees Approve Updates to Library Use Policy
At their September meeting, the Board of Trustees approved some small revisions to the Library Use Policy.
1- Section 300.3 (2) adds: Defacement of Library property to target a specific group based on race, color, religion, national origin or ancestry, gender, disability, or sexual orientation will be reported to the American Library Association’s Office of Intellectual Freedom and may potentially be a hate crime in accordance with Rhode Island state law.
2- Section 300.11 (4) adds: Possessing weapons of any kind including prop weapons, except for library security personnel or law enforcement officers carrying service weapons.
