Youth Summer Reading

This summer's kids activities are designed to help you "Level Up"!  Inspired by gaming and competion, we're offering Super Mario obstacles courses, Life-size Angry Birds, a Disney Showdown, and a Pro-Wrestling Power Hour. Want to win raffle prizes? Record your reading online at cranstonlibrary.beanstack.org (opens in new tab). You will earn digital badges and raffle tickets for every hour you read. Raffle winners will be drawn August 13.

Then come into any Cranston Public Library location after June 13 to get a free, custom “Level Up” coloring and activity book. Challenge yourself to draw monsters, solve puzzles, design vehicles, and earn superpowers.

Pssst: it has a secret old school summer reading record in the back plus codes to hack the summer reading tracker and get more raffle tickets.

Teen Summer Reading

Our teen summer experience for middle school students includes programs like Cupcake Wars, Mini Game Challenge, and Manga Mania! We also have a wide range of all ages programs from Disney Showdown to Family Game Night, where teens can "level up" at trivia, Scrabble, Chess, and more.  

Come visit us at the weekly free Farmer's Market at Bain Track if you want to check out books from Branch7, get produce grown by local famers, and take advantage of other suprise giveaways.

We're also here to help you with your summer reading assignments, whether you need to choose from a list, like the Rhode Island Middle School Book Award Nominees, or you just need find a book that's right for you.

Teens can earn community service hours by writing reviews of books and media for our teen blog (opens in new tab)! You can also record your reading online, write reviews, and enter the raffle at cranstonlibrary.beanstack.org (opens in new tab).

Summer With Your Cranston Public Library (Ages 16 and up)

Get ready for a summer of hot events, cool reads, and fabulous prizes with Cranston Public Library!

  • Earn one entry in our summer raffle every time you check out items, sign up for a new library card, renew your library card, or submit a book or movie review. Win gift certificates to local businesses, with a new drawing each week from June 16 through August 10. Raffle entries and review forms will be available at all Cranston Public Library locations. The more you enter, the better your chances to win!
