Cranston Public Library & Roger Williams University to hold college prep series
(CRANSTON, RI) - Roger Williams University and Cranston Public Library announce a FREE Prep for Success series of three workshops to help teens and adult learners with the college admissions process. These events will be held at James T. Giles Community Room at Central Library (140 Sockanosset Cross Road, Cranston RI). Workshops will be held Saturdays 2:30-3:30 PM on January 19, March 2, and March 30, 2019.
The first of these sessions is “College Admissions: Steps for Success,” to be held on Saturday, January 19, 2:30-3:30 PM. Learn from college admissions officers about the steps necessary to search for and apply to dream colleges. This college admissions workshop will assist with the why, what, and how to apply to colleges as a high school student or as an adult learner. This workshop will be co-presented by Pam Pereira, Assistant Director of Admissions and Enrollment Management, and Raksmey Pen, Career Specialist, both from Roger Williams University. “Whether someone is heading back to school after years in the workforce, or parents and teens are investigating post-secondary education options, this program will answer a lot of questions,” states Zach Berger, Cranston Public Library. “Libraries are all about lifelong learning, so this collaboration is a natural fit.”
The next two sessions on March 2 and 30 will explore additional topics like career choices and financial aid. Further details about the next two sessions in the Prep for Success series will become available soon.
